Mega Blok Research

Mega Bloks

Mega Bloks was founded in 1967 under the name Ritvik Toys, it was then renamed Mega Bloks in 2002 and Mega Brands in 2006. It was originated in Canada by a couple named Victor and Rita Bertrand to create a line of construction set toys, puzzles and craft based products.

As seen in this image the design of the cubes is pretty much the same as Lego. This led to Lego taking Mega Bloks to court because of how the cubes combine together is the same concept to their original design. The Supreme Court allowed them to keep selling their product although Lego were not happy about it. And in 2010 it was decided that it was not a trademark so they can continue making these cubes.

The packaging of these products are memorable as well as safe for the children that they're advertising too. As the bricks are fairly big it is unlikely that they can cause a child damage as they cannot swallow them. The concept of the bag makes it easy to put away and make safe when sealed.
